Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery is an award-winning Scotch whisky distillery and visitor attraction located in the central Highlands of Scotland.
As well as experiencing the production of ABERFELDY® single malt whisky, visitors have access to an interactive heritage exhibition, using the extensive DEWAR’S archive to tell the stories of the brand. The tour also takes in an atmospheric warehouse area, designed to illustrate the impact of maturation on Scotch whisky. There is also a licensed tasting bar, a welcoming cafe, and the distillery shop.

The Experience In Detail
Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery employs a range of unique spaces to tell the story of DEWAR’S blended Scotch whisky and ABERFELDY single malt whisky production.
The Heritage Exhibition
The self-guided interactive heritage exhibition allows guests to explore items from the archive and discover the story of the Dewar family. The exhibition features a mixture of artefacts and imagery, audio visuals, and interactive games, and has now been enhanced with the addition of a bespoke app, provided to visitors on iPad® hardware.
Whisky Production
The guided part of the tour takes in production of ABERFELDY spirit, encompassing the milling, mashing, fermentation and distillation processes. Experienced guides impart information on the distinctive aspects of the production style of ABERFELDY single malt, and their impact upon the taste of the finished whisky.
The Warehouse
As Aberfeldy whisky is now matured elsewhere in Scotland, the filling station and Warehouse have escaped modernisation and serve as an atmospheric tour space. Featuring walls of racked casks, the Warehouse is used to illustrate the maturation process, and is also the location for the tasting of unique single cask edition whiskies drawn from the cask.
The Whisky Lounge
Every tour at Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery begins and ends in The Whisky Lounge, a comfortable and welcoming space that houses the visitor experience cafe, tasting bar, and distillery shop. The Whisky Lounge also features an archive wall, which showcases vintage memorabilia, signs and advertising campaigns from throughout DEWAR’S history.
