Every lodge in our Loch Tay collection has been chosen with the same priority in mind: somewhere proper to sit at the end of the day with the view in front of you. For most of our properties that’s a private hot tub on the decking, fitted close enough to the loch, the river or the hillside that the bubbles and the landscape end up in the same photograph.
There are lodges with hot tubs across the four areas of the loch. Some are built for two, with one bedroom and a single tub positioned for stargazing. Others are family sized, with three or four bedrooms and tubs large enough for the whole group. A handful, including Craggantoul, sleep up to twelve and work well for multi family holidays or smaller events.

Why book a hot tub lodge at Loch Tay
Scotland’s weather is not the obstacle people sometimes assume. The hot tubs are running year round and most guests use them more in the colder months, not less. A January soak after a frosted morning on Ben Lawers, or a December evening watching the stars come up over the water with a dram, is a different proposition to a hot tub in a back garden in July. The tubs are private to each property, with no shared use, and the heating is included in the rate.
Choosing between the lodges
If you’re booking for a couple, the boathouses at Acharn (Dipper, Osprey, Oyster) sit directly over the water with hot tubs on the wraparound decking. The cottages at Killin (Garth, Almond, Pip, Bramble) face the river and tend to be a touch warmer for early or late season stays. Sky Cottage at Craggantoul is the option for couples who want elevation and the broadest view of the loch.
For families, the two and three bedroom lodges at Ardeonaig and Killin work best. Glen Lochay Lodge sleeps six with curved bay windows over the river. Ardeonaig Lodge sleeps eight across four bedrooms. Yew Tree and Ghillies are popular two bedroom options.
For larger groups, Craggantoul House sleeps twelve in six bedrooms with its own grounds, and Barn Lodge sleeps six within the same estate. Several of the smaller Craggantoul properties can be booked together for groups that want to spread across multiple cottages while staying within walking distance of each other.
Practical Tips
All hot tubs are maintained on a strict schedule between guests, with full water changes and chemical testing every stay. There’s no extra charge to use them. Dog friendly lodges (Errol, Orchard, others) have outdoor space for the dog that’s separate from the hot tub area.
